Introduction

The Climate Change and Clean Energy Forum is a new CERA Industry Forum that delivers original research and facilitates discussion among industry leaders and key stakeholders to help understand, integrate and address the strategic climate change and clean energy questions facing the global energy industry.

Building on the foundation of CERA’s 2007 Multi-client Study Crossing the Divide: The Future of Clean Energy , the Forum provides an objective and independent research agenda to assess how new climate change policies, evolving greenhouse gas markets and accelerated investments in clean energy technologies could reshape the global energy landscape. In doing so, CERA recognizes the diverse factors shaping the climate change and clean energy landscape, including energy markets, technology, policy, supply and demand, consumer behavior and demographics.

Climate Change and Clean Energy Forum  research is designed to address key questions, including:

  • What are the implications of current energy infrastructure and global “business-as-usual” trends upon greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions?
  • Are there gaps in investment and technology between current trends and the range of GHG policy proposals?
  • How may new policies and low carbon energy investments influence GHG trends?
  • What are the potential risks and new business opportunities associated with climate change policies?
