The Sum of the Green Parts: Prospects for the EU 2020 Targets and Renewables Trade
The 2009/28 European Commission directive set an aggressive 20 percent target for renewable energy in final energy consumption by 2020, which in the power sector would translate to about 35 percent of generation from renewables. As a part of the directive, renewables trade within the European Union and imports from nonmember countries have been allowed. --6/23/2010
