European storage levels continued to climb throughout August 2010, however, lower fill levels in the final week of August saw storage levels close at 88 percent. This is similar to the 2009 figure of 89 percent, and below 2008 at 94 percent. The picture varies from country to country with fill levels peaking at around 95 percent in Belgium, Denmark, and Germany, while in Spain and the United Kingdom fill levels were behind the usual schedule, at around 82 percent.

IHS CERA's outlook is for storage injections of 54 billion cubic feet (Bcf) for the week ending August 27 and 48 Bcf for the week ending September 3, resulting in a gas storage inventory level for the US Lower 48 of 3,106 Bcf as of August 27.
