Iraq's Election Results: Redistributing the Cards March 12, 2010
A close race in Iraq’s elections will likely lead to power struggles to build a winning coalition. Barring a serious deterioration of the security situation. OPEC: Compliance Is the Name of the Game March 16, 2009
Gathered in Vienna on March 15, exactly three months after deciding in Oran to slash production by 4.2 million barrels per day from September 2008 levels, OPEC’s ministers chose not to make any further output reduction. Instead, the focus was on increasing compliance with existing production cuts. OPEC also decided to convene an extraordinary conference on May 28 “to consider any further action deemed necessary.”

Iraq's Provincial Elections: An 'Important Step Forward' February 18, 2009
Iraq's provincial elections strengthened the prime minister and dealt a blow to the main Shi'a party. However, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will need to strike a delicate balance with other parties. Elections reinforce the power of Baghdad over the provinces, which should bring some clarity in the oil sector decision-making process.
